One Person Killed in Crash South of Moscow

Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash this (Mon) morning on U.S. Highway 95 south of Moscow.

According to an ISP news release, at around 10:40 a.m. a blue 2001 Ford Focus, occupied by a 40 year old unidentified Lewiston man, was traveling north on the highway near milepost 340 when the vehicle approached stopped traffic due to construction in the area. As the Focus approached, the man swerved, striking the side of a white 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, before continuing off the right shoulder down an embankment.

The driver of the Ford Focus was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained severe injuries due to the crash. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Silverado, a 65 year-old man also from Lewiston, was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.

The highway was closed for approximately 3 hours while agencies responded and investigated the crash.
