
A man from the Tri-Cities area is facing charges after his arrest Saturday near Colfax following a high-speed motorcycle chase and crash.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Derek Adams of Richland, eluded a wildlife officer who attempted a traffic stop earlier Saturday. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the same motorcycle for speeding near Colfax and Adams fled at speeds of more than 100 mph along State Route 272. The pursuit ended after Adams crashed while negotiating a curve.
He was arrested and transported to a hospital for observation.
According to the news release, Adams had active felony warrants, including escape from community custody, second-degree assault and theft of a motor vehicle. He was scheduled to appear in Whitman County Superior Court today (Mon).
