The Lewiston Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire yesterday (Thur).
According to the department, the fire was reported around 11 a.m. at the Vineyard Apartment complex located at 2525 Eighth Street.
When crews arrived they observed smoke coming from apartments on the first, second and third floors. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the three affected apartments. Along with fire damage to the structure itself, there was also electrical damage and power was lost.
One person suffered minor injuries.
The overall damage is estimated at $50,000 and the American Red Cross has been notified to assist those residents affected by the fire.
