The trial for accused quadruple murder suspect Bryan Kohberger will not be held in Latah County.
Kohberger’s defense team filed a motion last month to move the trial, which is scheduled to begin in June, away from Moscow citing the possibility of a biased jury.
According to court documents, Judge John Judge granted the defense’s request to change the trial location. KXLY-TV reports the defense argued for the case to be moved to Ada County in Boise, but court documents granting the request didn’t include a new location. The court also noted there were staffing and security concerns with the Latah County Courthouse handling a murder trial of this magnitude.
Kohberger is accused of stabbing to death four University of Idaho students in Moscow at an off-campus home in November of 2022.
He faces the death penalty if convicted.
