According to a news release, at around 9:35 am Lewiston Police and the Lewiston Fire Department responded to an injury crash involving three vehicles in the intersection of 5th St. and Bryden Ave.
During the crash investigation, it was determined a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 44 year-old Robert Shadduck of Lewiston, was traveling northbound on 5th St. approaching Bryden Ave. Shadduck had the green light. At the same time a 2019 Ford Edge, driven by 69 year-old Raydean Shaw of Lewiston, was traveling westbound on Bryden Ave. approaching the intersection of 5th St. Shaw failed to stop for the red traffic signal and was struck by the Colorado, causing the Ford to spin 90 degrees. A 2004 Ford Taurus, driven by 54 year-old William Moore of Lewiston, was traveling southbound on 5th St. towards Bryden Ave. The initial collision between the Colorado and the Ford Edge caused the Edge to strike the Taurus.
Due to the collision, two of the drivers were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, and the third driver was treated on scene. All drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The road was closed for about an hour as all three vehicles sustained significant damage and required tow trucks to be removed.
According to LPD, Shaw will be issued an infraction citation for failing to stop for a red traffic signal.
