Two people were injured following a two-vehicle crash yesterday (Thur) morning on the Lewiston Hill.
According to an ISP news release, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Lapwai was traveling northbound on US Highway 95 near milepost 317 in a 2006 Kenworth tractor, pulling double-trailers loaded with wheat. A 2013 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by a 27-year-old Lewiston man was also traveling northbound behind the Kenworth tractor and trailers. Investigators say the driver of the pickup was traveling faster than the speed of the Kenworth and collided with the rear trailer, causing grain to be spilled onto the roadway.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and both were transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance for unspecified injuries.
The roadway was blocked for about three hours and the incident remains under investigation.
