A Moscow man accused of kidnapping his 2-year-old daughter and fleeing to Mexico is facing federal charges.

According to a press release from the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, 21-year-old Aaron Aung was charged by criminal complaint on one count of International Parental Kidnapping.  Aung was arraigned in federal court today (Fri), August 2.

On June 3rd, Aung did not return his daughter to her mother as scheduled by a court ordered parenting plan. The Pullman Police Department, Moscow Police Department and the FBI worked collaboratively to locate Aung and the child. Both were found in Mexico, along with Aung’s fiancé, Nadia Cole.

All three were summarily deported by Mexican authorities and Aung and the child were detained by U.S. Border Patrol personnel after crossing the border back into the U.S.
