The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office Posse assisted an injured man stranded following a backcountry motorcycle accident Monday.
According to the sheriff’s office, the 46-year-old unidentified man crashed while traveling along the Lolo Trail Road. He was able to send an SOS message to Idaho County dispatch.
The sheriff’s posse responded and was delayed by about 2 ½ hours due to downed trees from last week’s storm.
The injured man declined being airlifted and instead was aided in moving the inoperable motorcycle before being taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
