One of the men accused of killing a Juliaetta man has been extradited to Nez Perce County.
According to a press release from the Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office, Skylar Meade was transported from Ada County to Nez Perce County to to answer for the murder of 83-year-old James Mauney.
Meade was being held in Ada County following his conviction and sentencing his participation in escaping from the custody of the Idaho Department of Correction.
Meade, was classified as a high-risk, high-threat prisoner, after pleaded guilty to planning and executing a prison break on March 20, 2024. During his escape, he is alleged to have murdered Mauney, and a second individual in Clearwater County.
On June 11th he was formally indicted in Nez Perce County for the murder of Mauney near Leland.
