Scammers are trying to trick taxpayers by using a phone number similar to the state tax commission. The toll-free number for the Idaho State Tax Commission is (800) 972-7660.
Residents are advised to check the commission website at tax.idaho.gov/contact, to make sure any contact made is the correct number.
