AVCA Recognizes Warrior Volleyball Academic Accomplishments for Fourth Straight Year

For the fourth year in a row, Lewis-Clark State Volleyball earned an AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT. The 2023 squad is the first coached by Warrior alum Katie Palmer to earn the honor.

“This academic achievement is a testament of the incredible academic support our student-athletes experience throughout the entire institution,” Head Coach Katie Palmer said. “Coach Mack does a great job connecting with our student-athletes and empowering them to be champions in the classroom. I would be missing the mark if I didn’t thank him for being our program’s academic liaison to the amazing faculty and staff on campus. I’m also thankful for the continuous dedication the student-athletes exude in the classroom with tough majors like Nursing, Radiographic Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Psychology, and Pre-Health Sciences.”

To earn the team accolade, a volleyball program must maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Warrior Volleyball held a mark of 3.54. The team had four student-athletes earn a 4.0 GPA in the spring in freshmen Gianna Anderson and Makenzie Stout. Seven earned a 3.5 or better and nine earned at least a 3.25.
