Crews continue to gain ground on the Billy Creek Fire burning south of Lewiston in the Snake River canyon.
According to a news release from the Idaho Department of Lands, the blaze is listed at 3,169 acres and is now 33 percent contained.
Structure protection resources continue to patrol and monitor structures along the Snake River corridor. Firefighters are monitoring the north and south fire perimeter above the Snake River and are responding appropriately if they observe any hotspots. Hot and dry conditions are expected to continue through the week, at least, with the Excessive Heat Warning lasting through Friday.
A total of 150 personnel, along with 2 dozers; 1 helicopter; 4 Hand Crews; and 1 jet boat are assigned to the blaze.
