LEWISTON, ID – A 23-year-old Lewiston man was seriously injured last night after the mini-bike he was riding collided with a pickup. Lewiston Police and Lewiston Fire Department crews were dispatched to the intersection of 10th Street and Burrell Avenue at 10:14 p.m. for a report of a collision.

“The investigation revealed [that] Dakota Hall, 23 of Lewiston, was West bound on Burrell Ave on a motorized mini bike. The mini bike was not street legal and had no lights. Hall was unable to stop and collided with the side of a north bound pickup already in the round about,” a press release says.

Hall, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

The pickup that Hall struck did not stop at the scene and left the area.

“This vehicle is being sought by LPD. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Sergeant Craig Roberts or Officer Chris
Smith at 746-0171,” LPD says.

“LPD would like to remind everyone that these mini bike or “camp bikes” are not street legal. They do not have any lighting which makes them extremely dangerous to ride at night. If a mini-bike is made street legal, it must be registered and have insurance as they are a motorized vehicles operating on a public road,” LPD adds.
