RIGGINS, ID—A 73-year-old woman reported missing on Wednesday is believed to have crashed in the Salmon River. Early this morning, evidence of a crash was located on U.S. 95 at milepost 197.5, just north of Riggins. Marsha Hayes was last seen driving a 2006 Acura MDX northbound from Riggins with a destination of Lucille at 6:52 a.m. Her Australian Shepherd was traveling with her.
“Several vehicle parts and a license plate located along the river were confirmed to belong to Marsha Hayes. The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office is no longer looking for her vehicle and will be focusing recovery efforts from the river as conditions allow,” the sheriff’s office says. “Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Marsha’s family as they navigate this difficult time.”
