CLARKSTON, WA – A 29-year-old Clarkston woman was arrested last night after she allegedly bit a Clarkston Police officer’s thigh as he attempted to take her into custody. According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Amanda Meadows was booked into the Asotin County Jail on one count of 3rd-degree Assault.

The court document says officers responded to the 1200 block of Highland Avenue at around 7:06 p.m. for a report of a woman who may be a danger to herself.

After officers observed Meadows reportedly “passed out on the couch” with a pistol laying on a table near her, they knocked several times, but she did not respond. They made the decision to make an exigent entry.

Once entry was made, officers secured the firearm and placed Meadows in handcuffs, at which time she awoke and became “non-compliant,” the affidavit says.

“When we tried to escort [her] out of the residence, she would not move and stated that she was not leaving,” the document states. “Meadows fell back on to the couch and straightened her legs out to make it more difficult to move her. Two officers and I grabbed her arms and legs to carry her out.”

The affidavit says Meadows became combative and started kicking and moving erratically.

“She was brought to the ground where her arms were pinned, and her legs secured,” the document says. “During the excursion Meadows tried to bite [an officer] in the thigh.”

The affidavit says the officer reported feeling Meadows bite down on his leg, and another officer said he also witnessed the bite.

A spit mask was placed on Meadows, and she was then carried out to a patrol vehicle. She was transported to the Asotin County Jail and booked on the assault charge.
