
The Washington Employment Security Department has released the county-by-county unemployment rates for February.
Statewide, Washington’s February unemployment rate increased to 4.7 percent in spite of adding more than 2,600 jobs.
In southeastern Washington, Asotin County reported a jobless rate of 5 percent; Whitman County was 6.5 percent; Columbia County’s February unemployment rate was 7.3 percent; and Garfield County had the state’s seventh-highest jobless rate in February at 8.3 percent.
King County had the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 4.2 percent, while northeastern Washington’s Ferry County had the state’s highest unemployment rate at 13.2 percent.
