Aidan Mahaney led all scorers with 23 points and Mitchell Saxen tallied a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds as St. Mary’s beat Gonzaga 69-60 in the West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship game last (Tue) night in Las Vegas.
Anton Watson led the 17th ranked Bulldogs with 18 points.
The 21st ranked Gaels improved to 26-7 and claim the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament later this month.
The Zags drop to 25-7 and will have to wait and see what their seed will be when the NCAA Tournament selections are made Sunday.
