LEWISTON, ID – LC State Men’s Basketball announced the signing of Dylan Skaife to bolster the young core of talent for the Warriors in 2024-25. The Spokane native will start his Warrior career in the fall.

“I chose LC because of the family environment,” Skaife said. “The coaches, players and even the academic staff felt like a family. They all genuinely care for each other.”

Skaife is currently a senior at Ferris High School in Spokane playing under Gonzaga alum Sean Mallon. He had a highly decorated and successful career during his time as a Saxon. The 6-4 guard finished his career with more than 1,000 points scored, one of just eight players to break the 1,000-point mark in Ferris High School history, and was a three-time All-Greater Spokane League selection. In his senior year Skaife helped Ferris to district play and put together an eye-popping stat line along the way. He averaged 23.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks. He hit 66 3-point shots, took 16 charges and made more than 100 free throws at an 86% clip.

“We could not be more thrilled to have Dylan joining us here at LC,” Head Coach Austin Johnson said. “Coach CJ Johnson did a great job of developing a great relationship with Dylan and spearheading his recruitment. Dylan had a great high school career and we expect him to have an immediate impact on our program. He has a high basketball IQ and great leadership traits. He had some great coaches along the way in Coach Mallon at Ferris and the Hooptown Elite AAU program. Dylan has a lot of great basketball attributes, but arguably his greatest strengths are his intangibles as a player, teammate and person. He has a tremendous desire to win, but that’s also matched by his desire to see his teammates succeed. We can’t wait to work with him and be a part of his journey on and off the court.”
