The Lenore Bridge will be closed for repair work for six weeks starting this (Mon) morning.
According to the Nez Perce County Road and Bridge Department, crews will work to replace failing bridge decking timbers. The bridge will be closed starting at 7 a.m. Monday and is scheduled to reopen April 8.
No vehicles or pedestrians will be allowed to use the bridge during the closure, which will be strictly enforced and fines are possible for those who violate the closure.
County officials have indicated the 90-year-old bridge needs to be replaced, but securing funding could be years away.
