NEW ORLEANS – Lewis-Clark State Women’s Track and Field continued its historic season with a monster weekend at the Whitworth Invitational. The Warriors added to their USTFCCCA Ratings point total in eight event to push their index score to 83.31.
Geraldin Correa led the way with the best 800m run this season in the NAIA. The senior broke her school record with a time of 2:12.84, nearly two seconds faster than the second-ranked runner in the nation. Madigan Kelly held her fourth-fastest time in the 60m hurdles, and the 4x800m relay team of Grace Tiegs, Aubree Williams, Correa, and Brooklyn Shell are ranked fifth in the NAIA.
Jennah Carpenter improved on her mark in the high jump with a height of 1.70m which ranks fifth in the NAIA. She is also eighth in the pentathlon after competing in the multi last month. Sydnie Zywina ranks 10th in the triple jump after besting her previous mark with a leap of 11.79m last weekend.
Joining Correa with qualifying times in the 800m are Williams (2:17.53) who ranks 19th and Tiegs (2:18.19) who ranks 23rd.
Athletes that also hit marks at the Whitworth meet include the 4x400m relay team of Kelly, Sara Hathaway, Anika Grogan and Emily Collins. The squad ranks 18th in the NAIA with a time of 3:57.99. Collins ran a B standard time of 57.81 in the solo 400m.
The Warrior women are the highest-ranked team in the west region and are top spots ahead of No. 12 College of Idaho.

The regular season concludes on Saturday at the EOU Last Chance Invite. LC State will have roughly a dozen representatives at the meet looking to hit their qualifying marks ahead of nationals.
