This week, Idaho drivers are seeing a rise in the state’s average price of gasoline for the first time this year.
According to the American Automobile Association, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $2.92, which is three cents more than a week ago, but 16 cents less than a month ago and 75 cents cheaper than a year ago. The national average currently sits at $3.20 per gallon, which is five cents more than a week ago and 13 cents more than a month ago, but 22 cents cheaper than a year ago.
Idaho currently ranks 34th in the country for most expensive fuel. The Gem State’s average is typically 30-50 cents higher than the national average, but today, the reverse is true.
Idaho Falls has Idaho’s lowest average price per gallon at $2.74 while Lewiston has the highest average price in the state at $3.14.
