
A Dayton woman died following a two-car collision yesterday (Wed) morning on U.S. Highway 12 east of Walla Walla.
According to the Washington State Patrol, 44-year-old Leearon Kennedy was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban west at around 5 a.m. when the vehicle collided in the center of the roadway with an eastbound 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Kennedy, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center at Walla Walla, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Tahoe, a 57-year-old man from Walla Walla, and his passenger, a 62-year-old man from Milton-Freewater, Oregon, were both taken to the hospital with injuries. Both men were wearing seat belts.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
