The Seattle Seahawks and long-time head coach Pete Carroll have decided to amend his duties with the franchise and he will no longer coach the team.

In an announcement today (Wed) Seahawks’ owner Jody Allen said Carroll will move into an advisory role with the franchise.

The decision was amicable according to a social media post by the organization.

Carroll led the Seahawks for14 seasons, that included 10 playoff appearances and the franchise’s lone Super Bowl championship. He has the most coaching wins in franchise history.

The Seahawks ended their season Sunday with a win over the Arizona Cardinals but missed out on a wild-card berth with a 9-8 record.
