The Latah County Prosecutor’s Office is asking the court to schedule Bryan Kohberger’s jury trial during the summer of 2024.

Kohberger, a former PhD student at Washington State University, is accused of murdering Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves in their off-campus home near the University of Idaho on Nov. 13, 2022.

In court documents filed Thursday, the state is asking for a six-week trial to happen next summer. It’s also asking that the trial dates avoid times when Moscow High School and other schools in the area are in session.

The state is also asking to schedule a status conference to schedule the trial.

In May, Kohberger stood silent as Judge John Judge asked him to enter a plea. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

Kohberger’s trial was scheduled to take place in October 2023, but in August, he waived his right to a speedy trial.
