This winter holiday season the Idaho State Police is joining the Idaho Office of Highway Safety and more than 50 law enforcement agencies across Idaho to urge drivers to think twice before drinking and driving.
Now through New Year’s Day, drivers will see officers working on a special high-visibility enforcement campaign to spread the message about the dangers of impaired driving. Law enforcement will be on heightened watch for drivers under the influence.
Authorities urge the public to always make a plan before heading out to a holiday celebration and have a sober ride home.
According to data from the Office of Highway Safety, last year in Idaho there were 1,818 impaired driving crashes killing 110 people.
