
Washington State University’s Myles Rice was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. The honor is Rice’s first career Conference recognition and the first Pac-12 weekly award by a Cougar since Mouhamed Gueye was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, March 7, 2022.

Rice scored a combined 47 points across two Cougar wins, including a career and WSU season-high 28 points in last Monday’s win over Eastern Washington. Rice started 6 of 6 from 3-point range and averaged 23.5 ppg.
The South Carolina native is currently the highest-scoring freshman in the Conference at 17.43 ppg, fifth-best in the Pac-12.
Rice has scored in double figures in six of his first seven games and is Wazzu’s leading scorer.
Washington State returns to the court Wednesday to face UC Riverside at 7 p.m. at Friel Court in Pullman.
