Asotin County Fire District #1 firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire Sunday afternoon with possible people inside in the 2900 block of 24th Street.
The 911 call was received right at 3 pm. When the first fire officer arrived, it was determined no one was in the fully involved motor home but was threatening a shop where it was parked.
Lewiston and Asotin County Fire medics also responded because of the report that someone may have been inside.
A black column of smoke could be seen across the valley. Firefighters contained the fire within about 10 minutes.
The motor home was destroyed and the shop received exterior damage and broken windows.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a malfunctioning electrical issue.
There were no reported injuries. Crews remained on the scene for about an hour checking for hot spots.
