Lewis-Clark State Women’s Basketball sophomore Sitara Byrd brought home the first Cascade Conference weekly honor of her career on Monday when she was voted the CCC Rize Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Her double-double on Thursday helped Lewis-Clark State win its season opener over NCAA Division III Whitman.
Byrd had a standout night in the first game of the season to help the Warriors defeat defending NWC Champion Whitman College. The sophomore notched the second double-double of her career and 11 rebounds and a career-high 18 points. She went 8-for-10 from the field in 21 minutes. Nine of her rebounds resulted in LC State baskets, with all four of her offensive rebounds being put back.
