
Idaho State Police are continuing to investigating a fatal semi truck crash that occurred yesterday (Tue) afternoon at 3:32 p.m. on U.S. Highway 95 southbound near milepost 312 at Escape Ramp 5 near Lewiston.
According to an ISP press release, a 2014 Volvo semi tractor hauling a loaded flatbed trailer of lumber was driven by a 55-year-old male from Nampa. The semi was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, overturned and came to rest in the escape ramp near the bottom of the Lewiston Hill.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The highway was blocked for approximately 12 hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
