Diamondbacks Punch Ticket to 2nd World Series

Rookie Corbin Carroll had three hits and 2 runs-batted-in and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 last (Tue) night in Game Seven of the National League Championship series in Philadelphia.

Brandon Pfaadt got a no decision but pitched well. The righthander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts over four innings. The D-Backs bullpen was sharp with 5 pitchers combining to shutout the Phillies over the final five innings.

Arizona advances to the franchise’s second World Series where they’ll meet the Texas Rangers. Game one is Friday night in Arlington.
