The fall open burning period in rural areas of Asotin County is underway.
Controlled burning of yard waste runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
According to county officials, all fires must adhere to county restrictions, and the open burning line should be checked daily, prior to burning, at (509) 243-2020.
As an alternative to burning, county residents can also haul yard debris to the Asotin County Regional Landfill at no charge.
