Bengal Monument to be Unveiled Thursday, New Sports Facility Groundbreaking Saturday

The Lewiston Independent School District plans to unveil it’s long awaited Bengal Monument, sculpted by 1984 Lewiston High School graduate Shayne Watkins, Thursday during school hours.

According to a press release, prior to the unveiling, Lewiston High School students will gather in the P1FCU Performing Arts Center and hear from major monument donor and Lewiston High School class of 1977 alum, Dwayne Clark. Clark is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Aegis Living. He is also the Founder of True Productions which has released 13 documentaries and its most recent film is scheduled to hit theaters this month. Clark is a published bestselling author and playwright and has been recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year and one of Seattle’s Most Powerful People, among many other accolades.

Thursday’s monument unveiling is closed to the public, however a groundbreaking ceremony for the school’s new football, track and soccer facilities are planned for Saturday morning at 10 east of the high school. That ceremony is open to the public.
