A Uniontown man has been charged with three felonies after allegedly ramming into another vehicle this week in Lewiston.

37-year-old Jonathan Hamlin was charged with aggravated assault, malicious injury to property and injury to child, all felonies. He was also charged with a misdemeanor DUI and driving without privileges.

The alleged incident took place at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday when dispatch took a report of an erratic driver. According to a probable cause affidavit, when officers arrived, two vehicles, a Honda CR-V driven by Hamlin, and a RAM 2500 driven by another man, were joined on Main Street.

The driver of the RAM claimed Hamlin had sped past him at a traffic light at the intersection of 18th Street and Main Street, and then slammed on his brakes causing the RAM to collide with the Honda. Two passengers were also in the RAM, including a child.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation and took a breath sample from Hamlin which allegedly resulted in a 0.203 and 0.193 breath alcohol concentration. The legal limit in Idaho is 0.08.

Hamlin was then taken into custody. His next court date is Oct. 23.
