Thousands of Idaho high school seniors will soon receive Idaho Campus Choice letters informing them that they have been admitted either to six, or all eight of Idaho’s public higher education institutions.

The letters will begin arriving in mailboxes throughout the state next week.

Formerly known as the State Board of Education’s Direct Admissions program, the name was changed to Idaho Campus Choice to help students better understand that they are guaranteed admission to at least six public colleges in Idaho and it’s now their turn to choose the best fit for them.

Guaranteed admission either to six or all eight public institutions is based on a student’s cumulative grade point average through the end of their junior year in high school.

“Just over 23,000 letters will begin showing up in mailboxes during the first week of October. Scholarship Idaho opens October 3 and has applications available both for Idaho Governor Brad Little’s Idaho LAUNCH program and the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship so it will be an exciting week for Idaho students to begin planning their futures,” said Jessica Eby, the State Board’s Apply Idaho program manager.

“We’ve posted the letters on the Idaho Campus Choice website so that students can get a sneak peek and keep an eye out for them next week.” Eby added. “Idaho high school graduates have tremendous opportunities awaiting them and we really hope the Idaho Campus Choice name change will help make these choices clearer to our graduates and that they take advantage of either Idaho LAUNCH or the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship.”

LAUNCH is a new grant program available to 2024 graduating high school seniors that pays for 80 percent of the cost of an education or training program that leads to an in-demand career. It can be layered with the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship to make postsecondary education and training even more affordable for Idaho students. Students and parents are urged to apply for Idaho LAUNCH grants after applications open on October 3 at https://nextsteps.idaho.gov/launch

Students can begin submitting their college applications on the Apply Idaho website beginning on October 2.  They can apply to ten Idaho schools – all eight public institutions and two private institutions –  all on Apply Idaho with no application fee(s).
