The Lewiston Chapter of the Idaho AmeriCorps Alumni Association is collecting hygiene items for the Lewiston School District HUB to commemorate the September 11 Day of Service and Remembrance.

The HUB provides food, clothing, household items and other necessities to school district students and their families.

The donation drive began September 11 and continues through September 24. Items may be dropped off or delivered to 634 6th Avenue in Lewiston or text 208-791-4018 to arrange for a pick up.

Requested items include: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, adult toothpaste and toothbrushes, mouthwash, combs and brushes, feminine hygiene products, lotion, razors, shave cream, all-purpose cleaners, dish soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener, toilet tissue, paper towels, facial tissue, and scrubbers. They can also use heavy duty teen backpacks and zippered three-ring binders.

The Lewiston School District HUB is part of the Community Resources for Families program.  Community resource workers support students and families in meeting their basic needs, identifying resources, and assists in eliminating practices that may act as barriers to enrollment, attendance, and success in school. The Community Resource Workers serve as a bridge between the school, the student, the family, and the community.
