LEWISTON, ID – A 69-year-old Winchester man has been found guilty of shooting his former son-in-law multiple times in the Rosauers parking lot on February 5, 2021. The 2nd District Court jury found James Brashear guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter, a lesser charge. He had been charged with First-Degree Murder in the case.
The victim, 40-year-old John Allen Mast, was taken to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Brashear was arrested and booked into the Nez Perce County Jail. The investigation showed Brashear was upset over custody issues between his daughter and Mast.
