Lewiston Firefighters Extinguish Bryden Canyon Brush Fires

The Lewiston Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire on Bryden Canyon Road near the pedestrian overpass at about 11:50 last (Tue) night.

According to a press release, first arriving crews found two separate brush fires in that area and another larger brush fire near the 8th Street overpass.

Crews attacked the fires with multiple handlines and the fire was knocked down in about 25 minutes. Crews remained on scene for an hour to check for additional hot spots and overhauled the fire.

The department responded with 10 personnel, including 1 structural engine, 2 brush trucks, 1 chief officer and 2 fire inspectors.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
