The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for north central Idaho and eastern Washington through Friday.
The combination of extreme heat, gusty winds and low humidity could result in critical fire weather conditions Thursday afternoon and evening.
Areas of impact include Hells Canyon, the Nez Perce Indian Reservation and the Palouse region.
