Three Arrested in Two Separate Incidents in Idaho County

A Montana man is facing drug charges after arrest in eastern Idaho County.

According to a press release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Friday afternoon at about 1:00 PM, Idaho County deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 12 near milepost 173, near the Montana state line.

During the stop, the deputy noticed a smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. A K9 Unit was

deployed and alerted on the vehicle. A search was conducted, and contraband was found.

50-year-old Jevan Jenkins of Lolo, Montana was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, on Sunday at about 6:20 PM, an Idaho County deputy was on routine patrol and

saw a vehicle parked at the intersection of Yellow Bull Road and Highway 162. According to a press release, the deputy saw two people standing outside the vehicle and noticed a large amount of trash on the ground outside the dumpsters.

After speaking with the individuals, it was determined the man,47-year-old Leonard Kelso of Nezperce had a felony warrant out of Washington and he was subsequently arrested on the warrant, along with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

36-year-old Hannah Tassell of Cottonwood was arrested for felony possession of

methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
