Hearings are scheduled in 2nd District Court for an Orofino man accused of threatening another man with a shotgun and firing at the man’s truck.

According to the Lewiston Tribune, 51-year-old Russell Gilmore has been charged with aggravated assault and unlawful discharging a weapon at an occupied house or building, both felonies.

Gilmore is married to Clearwater County Deputy Prosecutor Lori Gilmore. Because of that, the case was assigned to a special prosecutor and a magistrate judge not living in Clearwater County. The complaint was investigated by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a criminal complaint filed June 1 by acting prosecutor Joseph Wright of Grangeville, Gilmore threatened to do violence by pointing a 16-gauge shotgun toward John Bostick, also of Orofino, and threatening to kill him. Gilmore is also charged with intentionally discharging the shotgun at Bostick’s pickup truck while it was occupied.

A mediation hearing is scheduled for next Thursday, July 27 and a preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 29.
