LPD Continues Stabbing Investigation

The Lewiston Police Department continues to investigate a stabbing incident that occurred Friday afternoon.

No arrests have been made in the case and the name and condition of the man who was stabbed haven’t been released.

According to a press release, the case began when Lewiston police were called to the 2900 block of Seventh Avenue North in North Lewiston on Friday afternoon to investigate a report of an unconscious person. When officer arrived they found a man in a gravel parking lot with injuries to his head and upper body. The man was unresponsive and medics responded and transported the man to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Police didn’t find any suspects in the immediate area, but during the investigation, evidence was found that a person was assaulted and sustained multiple cuts and puncture wounds.

Authorities believe the incident was a targeted attack and the suspect, or suspects, knew the victim.
