Lewiston Man Remains in Serious Condition Following Alleged Attack in North Lewiston; Police Have Identified Person of Interest

LEWISTON, ID – A 65-year-old Lewiston man remains in serious, but stable condition after receiving serious injuries during an attack Friday afternoon. Lewiston Police responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 2900 block of 7th Avenue North at 2:45 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers found an adult male in a gravel parking lot with injuries to his head and upper body, ” a press release says. “The subject was not responsive and medics were called to the scene.”

The man, who has been identified as Loyal Otis Dickson, Jr., was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, including multiple cuts and puncture wounds.

Officials believe it was a “targeted attack” and that the alleged suspect knows Dickson.

“There were no suspects found in the immediate area, but according to a press release this afternoon, officers have identified and contacted a person of interest during the early morning hours of 7/15/23. Clarkston Police assisted with the contact and collection of other evidence in the case,” the press release says.
