Residents living near a Whitman County wildfire have been advised to be ready to evacuate.
The Wagner Road Fire has grown to an estimated 1,200 acres since it began Wednesday evening around 5:30. The blaze is burning grass and brush, and is threatening homes, agricultural land and infrastructure.
State fire assistance has been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan. Fire crews are being supported by aerial resources.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
