A Colfax man died at the scene of a collision at about 7:40 p.m. last (Thur) night involving a car and a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 195, about 3 miles south of Colfax.
According to the Washington State Patrol, 36-year-old Russell Foreyt was traveling north on a 2002 Honda XL883, when he crossed the center line and collided, head on with a 2002 Ford Focus driven by 58-year-old Robert Spies of Genesee.
Troopers responded to the accident, which blocked the roadway for an unspecified amount of time.
Foreyt, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Spies, who was wearing a seatbelt was transported to Whitman Hospital in Colfax with unknown injuries.
