ST. JOHN, WA – The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a second crash requiring Life Flight transportation at the campground area of Webb’s Slough. Sheriff Brett Myers says shortly before 10:00 p.m. Saturday night, deputies and EMS personnel were called to a crash involving serious injuries. The 30th Jet Sprint Boat Race took place over the weekend at the site.

“According to witnesses, the driver of a side-by-side SUV was transporting several passengers when one of the passengers fell from the moving vehicle,” Myers says in a press release. “The injured person was flown via Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital and is currently listed in serious condition.”

The driver of the SUV was arrested and booked into the Whitman County Jail on charges of Driving Under the Influence.

This case remains under investigation.
