Monday afternoon corrections officers at the Whitman County Jail located an unresponsive male inmate in his cell while conducting regular rounds.
Officers immediately notified EMS and then began lifesaving measures. The inmate was transported to the Emergency Room at the Colfax Hospital before being transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane via Life Flight.
The inmate’s name and condition have not been released.
