Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle Succumbs to Injuries

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday night in the Lewiston Orchards.

According to a press release from the Lewiston Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 11:47 p.m. near Thain Road and Bryden Avenue to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident. Officers arrived on the scene and gave aid to an unconscious woman, along with a citizen who stopped to help. Lewiston Fire Department and Medics then arrived and continued providing medical aid.

The unidentified woman was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver, a 32-year-old unidentified Lewiston resident, was driving a 1990 Ford Bronco and remained on the scene to cooperate with the investigation.

Thain Road was blocked for about three hours.
