Kooskia Man Faces Drug Charges Following Arrest

A 37-year-old Kooskia man was arrested over the weekend on two drug-related felonies and two misdemeanors.

According to a news release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Massey was taken into custody after an Idaho County deputy stopped a Chevrolet pickup truck on Main Street in Kooskia for a traffic offense. A K9 drug-sniffing dog, was deployed and alerted for drugs.

Deputies searched the vehicle and allegedly located methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and two open bottles of whiskey.

After Massey was taken to the Idaho County Jail in Grangeville, officers allegedly discovered additional drug paraphernalia in his pocket. Massey was charged with a felony, introducing contraband into a jail facility, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
