KXLY: Man Arrested For Assault Near WSU Campus After Trying to Set Apartment on Fire

PULLMAN, WA – KXLY – The Pullman Police Department has arrested a man suspected of trying to set an apartment on fire and threatening residents near Washington State University’s campus. According to KXLY, the school’s alert system said there was police activity near the campus west of Reaney Park. Pullman Police responded to Morton Street in Pullman for reports of a disorderly person.

Police say when they arrived, 31-year-old Apollo B. Lawyer tried to light an apartment on fire but was unsuccessful. They also say Lawyer threatened residents at the apartment.

Officials say the man had what was reportedly an explosive device and tried to light it, but was also unsuccessful.
