CLARKSTON, WA – A national threat of violence sent Clarkston High School into a “hold” situation late this morning. Schools across the country took extra precautions as well, although the threat was determined to be a hoax.
From the Clarkston School District: Earlier today at approximately 11:35 AM, Clarkston High School was made aware of a potential school threat through social media. As a precautionary measure, they immediately put all classes into a “hold” situation, which involved locking all interior and exterior doors. After conducting a thorough investigation, it was determined that the social media post in question was a nationwide hoax, and there is no credible threat to our school community. However, out of an abundance of caution, Clarkston High School will continue to keep all doors locked and conduct classes as usual until the end of the day, with students being dismissed at 2:35 PM.
